22-year-old girl smuggles 279 bottles of liquor from Goa, caught by RPF

THRISSUR: A woman was arrested for trying to smuggle 279 bottles of liquor from Goa to Thrissur by train. Sravani (22), a native of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, was arrested. The liquor brought from Goa for sale was seized.

A team led by Thrissur RPF Inspector Ajay Kumar seized the liquor hidden in the bag on the basis of a tip-off. 77 bottles of 750 ml and 202 bottles of 90 ml were seized. RPF informed that liquor worth Rs 27,000 was seized. The Crime Prevention and Detection Squad of RPF handed over the seized liquor and the accused to the Excise. Officials said that they will investigate for whom the liquor was smuggled.
