THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Human rights commission has initiated a case against traffic police after receiving a complaint from a Thiruvananthapuram resident. The bizarre penalty from traffic reached Nemom native Anil, who parked his vehicle in front of his house never knowing about the incoming penalty.
The Human Rights Commission ordered the traffic deputy commissioner to submit the report within four weeks' time.
It was on April 4th that Anil received a challan from traffic for breaching the rules of the road. According to the report, Anil traveled along the Peroorkada road on a bike with another person. The pillion rider was spotted not having a helmet. Interestingly, on that day, Anil never moved out of his home. The vehicle was parked in front the whole day. Anil reached the commissioner's office and asked queried about the error but received a cold response.
Only later did Anil decide to approach the Human Rights Commission for some solace. There is a rampant error in judgment over vehicles by traffic authorities. Many such cases have been reported in the last few months.
