Yellow alert at five places, rain likely in these districts in coming hours

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Central Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the state. Yellow alert is continuing in five districts today. A yellow alert has been announced in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, and Ernakulam districts today. Due to the possibility of rain, a yellow alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts tomorrow.

Meanwhile, there is a possibility of heavy rain in central Kerala in the next few hours. According to the notification issued after seven o'clock , the probability of rain is highest in Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts in the next three hours. Isolated thundershowers and gusty winds of speeds up to 40 kmph are likely in these districts. The Central Meteorological Department has informed that light rain is possible at isolated places in Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts also.
