Housewife framed case for revenge, no sexual assault happened; court acquits youngster in Malappuram

MALAPPURAM: A youngster was acquitted by the court after discerning that the sexual assault charge against him was bogus. The Manjeri fast-track court made the verdict which grabbed the headlines in the state.

According to reports, Muhamed Ashraf barged into the complainant's home giving threats of murder but later sexually molested her. Edavanna police then booked Ashrah and even prepared a chargesheet that saw 14 witnesses and 17 documents related to it.

The complainant who is a housewife once took money from Ashraf on credit but failed to repay it. There was a case registered on this account. All documents regarding this were submitted in court by Ashraf’s lawyers. After skimming through the documents, Judge S Rashmi pronounced a verdict in favor of Ashraf and dismissed the case. The complainant then admitted to being culpable by framing the case.
