IDUKKI: The argument of Peerumedu jail authorities in the Nedumkandam custodial death case is turning to be untrue. The hospital superintendent told crime branch that Rajkumar was brought to the hospital after an hour of his death. This was mentioned in the medical report also. The argument of the jail authorities was that he died after reaching the hospital. The statement of the doctors of Nedumkandam taluk hospital was also against the police. They said the police mislead them on the injuries sustained by Rajkumar.

Meantime, the crime branch is investigating high officials, including a former SP in the custodial case. It has been hinted that the investigating team is trying to get permission from the home department to quiz senior officials. Sub inspector Sabu had reiterated that Rajkumar was kept in illegal custody for four days with the permission of high officials including Idukki former SP.

Sabu was questioned yesterday by a team led by crime branch IG Gopesh Agarwal. The IG reached Nedumkandam Rest House, the camp office of the crime branch, to assess the investigation process. Sabu told them that he had given the picture and details of Rajkumar to SP and Kattappana DySP via Whatsapp the day Rajkumar was taken into custody.
