Mass resignation in local committee in Pathanamthitta after A P Jayan removed from secretary post

PATHANAMTHITTA: Some outbursts were witnessed in the CPI in Pathanamthitta after A P Jayan was sacked from the secretary post. Peringanad North local committee members have all resigned. There were fifteen members.

AIYF state committee member and district panchayat member Sreenadevi Kunjamma came forward with a complaint alleging that Jayan had amassed assets illegally. Sreenadevi filed a complaint with the state secretary Kanam Rajendran with evidences of amassing property illegally, construction of cattle farm of crores near his house, failure to inform the party about fund collection during local elections etc.

A four-member party commission had conducted an investigation following that. Jayan was removed from the post of district secretary as per the commission's recommendation. Mullakkara Ratnakaran is in charge instead. A P Jayan responded that the decision taken by the state executive against him is unusual and anti-democratic in the party. He will meet the media today.
