Two children drown in Palakkad; Went missing while playing near house

PALAKKAD: Two children, who were cousins, drowned in a pond, while playing near their house. The incident happened at Thiruvegappura in Pattambi, Palakkad. The dead has been identified as Fathima Sahra (5), daughter of Shihab Musliyar of Karakooth House and Muhammed Hanan (2), son of Shoukath, brother of Shihab.

The incident happened Wednesday evening. The children went missing while they were playing near the premises of their house. In a search jointly conducted by the family and the local people, the two were found in a pond which is 50 metres away from the house.

Although both were immediately rushed to a private hospital in Perinthalmanna, Fathima Sahra had died on the spot itself. Hanan, who was on the ventilator in the intensive care unit, died Wednesday morning.
