Minister plans International AI Summit in Kochi to establish city as India's AI hub

KOCHI: Minister P Rajiv has announced the upcoming International Artificial Intelligence Summit to be held in Kochi, jointly organized by the Industry and IT departments. Scheduled for mid-year, the summit will highlight Kochi's potential to emerge as the country's AI hub focusing on generative AI over generic AI.

During the announcement, Minister Rajiv emphasized the participation of global industry leaders like Boeing, leveraging IBM's global services. Efforts are underway to ensure their representation at the AI summit showcasing Kochi's aspirations to become an AI epicenter.

KSIDC will spearhead the summit's organization, collaborating with entities such as IT parks, startup missions and technical universities in the state. With Kochi poised to be IBM's AI hub attracting top AI talent globally, this move promises substantial benefits for the burgeoning IT workforce.

Minister Rajiv highlighted the readiness of the second phase of Infopark and Smart City to provide the necessary infrastructure. Notably, a meeting between Industry Minister officials and IBM software representatives has taken place to solidify Kochi's transformation into an AI hub.
