Jose Vallur and MP Vincent submit resignation

THRISSUR: Following the defeat in Thrissur in the Lok Sabha elections and the chaos at the Thrissur DCC office, Thrissur DCC president Jose Vallur and UDF district chairman MP Vincent submitted their resignation to the KPCC leadership. The leadership had directed both of them to submit their resignations the other day.

Both of them handed over their resignation letters after receiving a warning that they would face party action if they did not accept the leadership's instruction. The resignation was announced amid dramatic scenes at DCC yesterday. Palakkad MP VK Sreekandan has been given the temporary charge of the Thrissur DCC President.

Although both Jose Vallur and Vincent tried their best to avoid resignation, the leadership did not give up. They even went to Delhi and tried to pull strings through many leaders. However, the leadership remained firm on its demand for the resignation of both as it felt that it wouldn't be able to persuade K.Muraleedharan if it did not take strong action in the current situation. However, Muraleedharan is of the stand that there is no need for MP Vincent to resign as UDF district chairman as he was active in the campaign with him.

There is a move to make former MLA TV Chandramohan the district chairman of UDF. According to the leadership, no one from the Thrissur district needs to be appointed as the new DCC president for the time being. Meanwhile, no move is being made to take action against Election Committee chairman TN Prathapan. Muraleedharan is of the stand that he will not file any official complaints regarding the defeat.
