KOCHI: Actor Bala, who was arrested on a complaint filed by his ex-wife, has been granted bail. He was granted bail by the Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate Court. The court granted bail to Bala with strict conditions. The main bail conditions are not to speak against his ex-wife and daughter on social media and not to talk to the media about matters related to the case.
On the complaint of Bala's ex-wife, Kadavanthra police reached his house in Palarivattom early this morning and arrested Bala. A case has been registered against the actor under the Juvenile Justice Act in addition to the complaint of defamation through social media. Bala's remarks, including about his daughter, are what led to his arrest. Bala's manager Rajesh and his friend Ananthakrishnan are also accused in the case.
A video posted by Bala's daughter against Bala on social media is what aggravated the issues between Bala's ex-wife and Bala. The daughter said her mother was constantly harassed by her father. Bala's daughter says that he once threw a bottle at her. Bala had responded to this and soon a man, who was their driver, came out in support of Bala's ex-wife.
It was alleged that Bala destroyed his ex-wife's phone after their marriage and severed ties with her family. Bala would call his friends home to have a drink. The ex-wife's main job was to serve them food and wash the dishes in the middle of the night. If she asked anything, she'd be beaten up like a dog till she bled. There were unnatural sex, marital rape, and sexual abuse. The complainant's PA had earlier alleged on social media that the same experience had happened to Bala's second wife.
