Actor Baiju Ezhupunna is heartbroken over the untimely death of his brother. Baiju remembers his brother Shelju as a health freak who never missed a workout day.

Baiju:

“There is no such thing as health or fitness. When god calls us, we need to go. God will call early those he loves. Shelju went to be with our Mummy. Everyone will have to leave this place one day.

It was Shelju's wedding anniversary some days back. I talked with him on the phone. Even I took his car that day. But soon I got news that Shelju felt unwell when the car reached Thodupuzha. He was on his way from Idukki.

Due to the terrible state of our roads, it took some time for us to rush him to the hospital. He was a health freak and a teetotaler. A man who took good care of his body, my brother was just 49 years old this year. (Baijiu broke into tears)

When God calls, there is no such thing as health or fitness. We need to leave everything and go with him. When I used to be in movies, it was Shelju who took care of our whole family.

Shelju is the son of MK Jonappan, the former gram panchayat vice president and owner of Saniya Theatre in Eramalloor.

Shelju's wife Simi Shelju Pazhampilly. Children: Sian Shelju, Shaun Shelju, Sonia Shelju. Siblings: Baiju Ezhupunna, Rajitha Payas and Rekha Bernard.
