THRISSUR: Reports said BJP central leadership has approved Minister of State Suresh Gopi’s demand to act in films. It is heard that the top leadership has given permission in principle. Official permission will be given soon and the actor will then face the camera. Eight days have been granted in the first schedule. With this, Suresh Gopi has started growing beard to play the character in the film.

The many projects he has taken over require income to continue. Therefore, Suresh Gopi's stance was that he could not avoid acting. Despite seeking permission for this, the BJP high command did not take a decision on this. He had grown his beard for months for the character in 'Ottakomban', thinking that he would be allowed to act. However, he shaved off his beard last month after nod was not given.

The shooting of his new film will be in Thiruvananthapuram. The shooting is likely to begin on December 29. He got permission to act till January 5. During these days, major part of his character revolving Central Jail will be shot. The film is being directed by debutant Mathew Thomas. Ottakomban is Suresh Gopi's 250th film. The film was announced earlier but was delayed due to various reasons.

The script is penned by Shibin Francis. Shaji Kumar wields camera for the film. Harshavardhan Rameswar is the music director. The big-budget film is being produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies. The shooting is planned for 90 days.
