Married woman dies after jumping into Periyar River

KOCHI: A 23-year-old woman jumped to her death in the Periyar River from the footbridge to Manappuram. She has been identified as Greeshma, wife of Aneesh of Kuttamassery Kaniyambilly in Aluva. The couple got married a year ago.

The incident happened Tuesday night at 7.30 pm. Her body was fished out by 8.45 pm by the police and fire force. The body has been shifted to the mortuary of the district hospital.
