THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More information have emerged in the case of a youth and a woman finding dead in a lodge in Thampanoor. The dead were identified as C Kumar and Asha, both from Peyad. Asha’s husband had filed a missing complaint with the police the other day.

Kumar was a production assistant at Kairali Television Channel. Asha was a temporary employee at the Pangode military camp. Kumar had taken a room at a tourist home near the Thampanoor bus stand two days ago. He called Asha Saturday morning. The staff of the lodge informed the police after the two were not seen outside. The police arrived and conducted an inspection and found the bodies.

Asha was found lying near the bed with her throat slit and was lying in blood, while Kumar was found hanging with his wrist slit. The police concluded that Kumar hanged himself after killing Asha. The knife believed to have been used in the murder was recovered from the room.

It is concluded that a sudden provocation led to the murder. The police found evidence of a scuffle in the room. There were injury marks on Asha's body. Police said he may have committed the murder last night. A bag containing clothes of the two was also found in the room.

Police said Kumar came close with Asha after his divorce. Asha has two children. Her husband filed a complaint with the Vilappilsala police after Asha, who usually returns home after work, did not reach home at night.
