Payal Kapadia’s’All We Imagine as Light’ received the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival and even earned the top place in former US president Obama’s best films list for the year 2024. And it seems that more recognitions are on the way for this Malayalam movie. In the latest news, the film received a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) nomination. ‘All We Imagine as Light’ received a nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. The nominations were announced on Wednesday.
Actors Kani Kusruti and Divya Prabha played the lead roles in the movie, which highlighted the wearisome lives of Malayali nurses in metropolitan Mumbai. Apart from them, Azeez Nedumangad Hridhu Haroon and Chaya Kadam played pivotal roles in the movie. The film is an official India-France joint venture.
Meanwhile, Indian-origin British actor Dev Patel received a nomination for best debut director at BAFTA.
The nomination is for the film 'Monkey Man'. Sandhya Suri also bagged a nomination in the same category for the British production venture ‘Santosh’. Shahana Goswami played a lead role in the film which is made in the Hindi language. Karan Kandhari has also bagged a nomination in this category for his role in Radhika Apte-starrer ‘Sister Midnight’.
