MANANTHAVADY: CPM workers waved black flags at Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi, who arrived at her constituency on Tuesday to meet the kin of tiger attack victim Radha. On the way from Kannur Airport to Wayanad, activists protested with black flags at Kaniyaram.

The CPM activists ran towards the MP's vehicle with slogans and waved black flags. Protestors called out the 'mundane gimmick' of Wayanad MP to visit the constituency only during a crisis. Protesters alleged Priyanka was detached from Wayanad and had zero know-how about the issues affecting her constituency.

At the same time, Priyanka visited the house of Radha, who was mauled to death by a man-eater tiger in Pancharakolly just days back. Senior Congress leaders also accompanied Priyanka to the House of Radha. Priyanka spent 20 minutes with Radha’s family and asked the family to contact her whenever in need. Priyanka also visited Late DCC Treasurer N M Vijayan’s house.

Later in the day, Priyanka will take part in UDF's ‘Malayora Yathra’ campaign meant to address the torturous lives of people living in hilly terrain under the threat of wild animal attacks. Minding the fierce protest from CPM cadres, security has been beefed up for the Wayanad MP.
