THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister VD Satheesan called out the incident of the Vice Chancellors of three universities in Kerala participating in a lecture program attended by RSS chief Sanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat. The Chief Minister, in a Facebook post, termed the incident a serious lapse and demanded that the VCs apologise to Kerala. “Any action that promotes communalism will not be accepted. It will not be tolerated,” Satheesan said.
Health University VC Dr Mohanan Kunnummal, MG University VC Dr D Mavoothu, and Dr CR Prasad, who is in charge of the VC of the Malayalam University, participated in the Sangh Parivar program.
“The participation of three Vice Chancellors in the lecture delivered by Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat as part of the RSS centenary is viewed with utmost seriousness. This is a serious lapse on the part of the Vice Chancellors. This is unbecoming of the educational tradition of Kerala and the dignity of the Vice Chancellors.
The Kerala public has respect for the position of the Vice Chancellor. The three vice chancellors, meanwhile, threw away all that respect by participating in the program of an RSS leader who speaks in the language of communalism. Any action that promotes communalism, no matter who it is, will not be accepted. It will not be tolerated. The three VCs who participated in the RSS program should apologise to Kerala.” said Chief Minister VD Satheesan.
