Missing ASI found hanging inside lodge room in Guruvayur

THRISSUR: A police officer who had been reported missing from Alappuzha was found dead in a lodge room in Guruvayur on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Santhakumar (52), an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) attached to the Narcotic Cell.

Santhakumar, a native of Mararikulam in Alappuzha district, was found hanging inside the lodge room. The police uniform he was wearing when he went missing was found hanging inside the room.

Sources said Santhakumar had been facing financial difficulties related to the construction of his house. He was reportedly under mental stress due to financial liabilities. His body will be taken from Thrissur to his hometown in Alappuzha for the final rites.
