KOCHI: The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has issued a show-cause notice to actress Ansiba Hassan over her public criticism of the organisation. AMMA has alleged that her repeated remarks through social media and media platforms have tarnished the association's image. According to office-bearers, matters that could have been resolved within the organisation were instead taken into the public domain, causing embarrassment to AMMA and damaging its reputation.
The notice directs Ansiba to submit her explanation before June 17, stating why disciplinary action should not be initiated against her for allegedly violating the organisation's bylaws. Sources said the association could take stringent action, including suspension, if her response is deemed unsatisfactory.
The development comes shortly after a police report reportedly found no merit in the complaint filed by Ansiba against actress Lakshmy Priya and a Sub-Inspector attached to the Tripunithura Women's Police Station. Ansiba had also lodged a complaint against actor Tini Tom, accusing him of making communal and caste-based remarks. She continues to pursue the case, which was filed with the Kadavanthra Police.
