Former MLA P Raju passes away

KOCHI: Former CPI Ernakulam district secretary and former MLA P Raju (73) passed away at a private hospital in Kochi. He was 73. He had served as CPI's Ernakulam district secretary twice. He was elected to the assembly from North Paravur in 1991 and 1996. Raju was a strong leader of the CPI in Ernakulam. Although he was not in good terms with the party in recent times, Raju was active in social activities. He was a member of the CPI state council and had worked as Janayugam Kochi unit manager.
