Actress Ahaana Krishna came under fire for skipping promotional events for her latest movie, 'Nancy Rani'. The movie's director, Naina, widow of late director Joseph Manu James, expressed her disappointment over Ahaana not turning up at promotional events for the movie despite initially agreeing to all terms. Naina said Ahaana even lacked the basic humanitarian consideration to attend the event.
Joseph Manu James died in 2023 after being affected by jaundice. It was after Joseph’s passing that Naina took over the production work of this movie.
NAINA:
“She might still not be over with some issues she had with Manu. Apart from everything, humanitarian consideration is a requisite for actors. I called her many times so the PRO, requesting to appear for the promotion works. I faced a lot of struggles while completing this movie. You could imagine my situvation when a lead actress in our movie refused to be at the promotional event.
Every financial settlement with Ahaana is completed. I don’t know what more I should do to persuade her to attend the events. If the film fails to perform, I will cope with the financial struggle, which is better than pleading with Ahaana again. I feel like staying silent at the moment and not delving deep on the insider tussle.”
Meanwhile, another cast member, Aju Vargheese, expressed his happiness and surprise over the movie finally getting a release date.
“I never thought this movie would see the light of the day. This become possible only becasue of the great work from Naina and her father”, said Aju.
'Nancy Rani' will release in theatres on April 18th 2025.
