Kannappa is an epic film featuring Telugu actor Vishnu Manchu in the lead role. The film boasts an impressive cast including Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Sarathkumar, and Kajal Aggarwal. Recently, the film's second teaser was released, quickly gaining attention on social media, but also attracting a wave of trolling. Actor Raghu Babu, who plays a significant role in the movie, has now responded to the online criticism.
During a promotional event, Raghu Babu remarked that those who troll Kannappa will incur the wrath of Lord Shiva and face punishment. This statement has, however, led to further trolling of the actor. Additionally, there has been significant backlash regarding Mohanlal's appearance in the film.
Kannappa tells the story of a devoted Shiva follower named Kannappa, serving as a tribute to the 1976 Telugu film Bhakta Kannappa. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film also features Mohan Babu, Arpith Rang, Kaushal Manda Devaraj, Aishwarya, and Madhubala in prominent roles. The film will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English. Produced by Mohan Babu’s 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment, the film's cinematography is handled by Hollywood’s Sheldon Chau. Kannappa is set to release in theatres on April 25.
