NEW DELHI: BJP leader K Surendran made a diatribe targeting Malappuram district on Tuesday.

K SURENDRAN:

“During Sabarimala season, no restaurant owners in those premises are forced to sell just vegetarian food. But in the Malappuram district, no one gets access to even a drop of water during the holy month of fasting. All restaurants will be closed. If this is not fascism, then what is it?

This applies to the Malappuram district and some places in the Kozhikode district during the fasting months. Progressive people seldom discuss these matters.

People in Malappuram are not taking vaccines. There is a devious campaign against vaccines in the district. It is not even a topic of discussion here. A woman here died during childbirth. It was her fifth delivery. We might mistake it for their lack of knowledge. However, it is not.

A combined effort from certain sections, running campaigns against vaccines and adopting hardline orthodox measures, are behind such ghastly incidents. Behind the façade, many mysteries are happening in the Malappuram district. Nobody dares to raise a finger minding Muslim Leagues’ domination in the district.”
