'Pinarayi and Vasavan on posters, not lord Ayyappa'; LoP Satheesan calls out 'hypocrisy' of CM Pinarayi Vijayan

KOTHAMANGALAM: Opposition leader VD Satheesan critiqued CM Pinarayi Vijayan for doubling up as a fake devotee to inaugurate the Global Ayyappa Conclave in Pampa today.

SATHEESAN:

“Even in the posters of the event, there are no pictures of Lord Ayyappa but of Pinarayi and Vasavan. The people are aware of what Pinarayi did to them during the protest times in 2019. The conclave is nothing but a sham to deceive people before the upcoming elections.

With the local body elections coming up, Pinarayi Vijayan spoke in a guise of devotion that is not befitting of him. He spoke at the Ayyappa Sangam while covering up the atrocities committed by the police during his tenure in Sabarimala by aiding and abetting the violation of rituals. Now, Pinarayi Vijayan is deceiving the public in the guise of devotion.

The government, which has not carried out any development work in Sabarimala for nine and a half years, has come out to deceive the people with a master plan. There are no answers to the questions raised by the UDF. Will the affidavit in the Supreme Court be withdrawn? Will the cases be withdrawn? Why has the master plan been brought out just before the election?

Yogi Adityanath's statement was read at the Ayyappa Sangam to help extremists gain ground in Kerala. For the nine and a half years, CM did not feel the need to hear the opinions of devotees. This is a government that has not even paid the Rs 82 lakhs that should have been given to Sabarimala for three years. This government has not carried out any development work in Sabarimala. The government has not given the 50 per cent amount that should have been given to the sanitation society in Sabarimala. People will surely call out the hypocrisy.”
