Star-studded Twenty20: Veena Nair, Anjali Nair and Lakshmi Priya to contest assembly elections

KOCHI: Three prominent actresses, including Veena Nair, Lakshmipriya, and Anjali Nair, joined Twenty20 and will contest in the upcoming assembly polls. Veena Nair will contest from Ettumanoor, Anjali Nair from Tripunithura and Lakshmi Priya from Perumbavoor. Twenty20 chairman Sabu M Jacob said at a press conference that the party will contest from nine constituencies in Ernakulam.

Social media influencer and reality show star Promy Kuriakose will contest from Angamaly.

Veena Nair said that she was the chairperson of the college union SFI in Swathi Thirunal College in 2007. Veena Nair has appeared in many television series and became popular through the movie Vellimoonga. She is a native of Aymanam.

Actress and entrepreneur Anjali Nair is making her debut in politics. Lakshmi Priya was an active presence at BJP election campaign rallies in previous years. Lakshmi Priya said that although she has campaigned for BJP candidates, she never joined the party.
