‘Why no vigilance probe?’; V D Satheesan’s name in monthly payoff diary, reveals Shone George

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP leader Shone George has claimed that Chief Minister V D Satheesan’s name is also included in the monthly payoff diary. Shone responded by sharing on Facebook a portion of a document submitted by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) to the court. He also shared a page from the diary of Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) managing director N Sasidharan Kartha on Facebook. Shone has alleged that the diary contains the names of prominent leaders from both the UDF and LDF.

Shone George shared the Facebook post identifying the document as one of the records attached to the charge sheet submitted by the SFIO to the court as part of the monthly payoff case. The post says, ‘Why is there no vigilance investigation? The figures on this page provide answers to many questions. (This is a page containing entries from the diary seized from the managing director of the company at the centre of the controversy. It is one of the documents submitted by the SFIO to the court along with the charge sheet.)’

Apart from the name of Chief Minister V D Satheesan, the diary also contains the names of Minister K Muraleedharan, MP Hibi Eden, former minister K B Ganesh Kumar, late Congress leader T M Jacob, Anwar Sadath, Johnny Nelloor and Shibu Baby John. The names Pinarayi Vijayan, Pannyan Ravindran and P Rajeev are also included in the document released by Shone.

Shone George alleged that the government is unwilling to order a vigilance investigation because senior leaders from all major political parties are named in the document.
