KOLKATA: As the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill is still going on in Kolkata, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the city. It is learnt that Mamata Banerjee has asked the Prime Minister to reconsider the centre's decisions regarding the CAA and NRC.
Meanwhile, several people had gathered in the city to protest against the Prime Minister. Following this, security was tightened throughout the city in order to avoid any untoward incidents. Several members of the SFI and Youth Congress had demonstrated protest in connection with Modi's arrival.
Modi, who is in Kolkata for a two-day visit, is expected to visit the Belur Math of the Ramakrishna mission. He will also attend the 150th-anniversary celebrations of the Kolkata Port Trust
