THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state leader Shobha Surendran, who was on an indefinite fast demanding withdrawal of prohibitory orders at Sabarimala, was arrested on Friday and moved to the medical college hospital in the city after her health deteriorated. N Sivarajan, party state president from Palakkad has taken over the relay fast.
The BJP has been on indefinite relay fast in front of the Secretariat here since December 3 over various demands, including withdrawal of prohibitory orders and reducing police restrictions at the hill-top shrine. Shobha Surendran has been on an indefinite fast after A N Radhakrishnan and C K Padmanbhan.
