Sachy was healthy after surgery, no medical negligence, says doctor

THRISSUR: There is no medical negligence in the surgery conducted on director Sachy, said doctor Prem Kumar, who treated him. Sachy was not given the anaesthesia which loses his consciousness. He was healthy after the surgery. He suffered a heart attack after eight hours of the surgery.

Dr Prem Kumar said that Sachy spoke to his family members four times. Sachy who was admitted at the critical care unit of the Thrissur Jubilee Mission Hospital following cardiac arrest died last night at 10.30 pm. He suffered a cardiac arrest while admitted in another hospital for a hip replacement surgery.

His body will be cremated at Kochi Ravipuram Crematorium at 4.30 pm this evening. His eyes have been donated. The body of Sachy, a lawyer by profession, will be kept in the high court hall advocates association chamber hall from 9.30 am to 10 am to pay homage. He had practiced in the high court for nearly eight years. Film personalities will pay homage to him. From there, the body will be taken to his house in Thammanam.

He was active in the film industry for almost 13 years. He left us when he was all set to make a film with Prithviraj. The actor had earlier said that he would act in any script written by Sachy. Prithviraj, Biju Menon, Suresh Krishna and Renjith had visited him in the hospital.

He has scripted for nearly 12 films and directed two films. He directed almost thirty plays. His first film was Anarkali with Prithviraj in 2015 and the other was Ayyappanum Koshyum with Prithvi and Biju Menon, a blockbuster film released in 2020.

He was born in Kodungalloor in Thrissur. He took his graduation in commerce and law from Ernakulam Law College.

Sachy-Sethu scriptwriters were a hit combo in the Malayalam film industry. The two started their carrier scripting for Prithviraj’s Chocolate which was a super hit film.

They later scripted for many hit films. Robinhood, Makeup Man, Seniors and many others. The two parted ways after the failure of Doubles released in 2011. They later scripted independently for Run Baby Run, Chettayis, Sherlock Toms, Ramaleela and Driving License.
