Kerala logs 6491 COVID-19 cases, 5669 cases through contact; 5770 recoveries, 26 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 6491 cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, health minister KK Shailaja informed. Among this, 5669 persons developed the disease through contact including 663 cases without an identified source of infection. 95 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 64 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 5770 patients tested negative for the virus today.

The state recorded 26 COVID deaths on Tuesday with the toll rising to 2121.

In the last 24 hours, 66,042 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 9.83.

With the addition of three new regions today and the removal of 13, there are 546 hotspots in the state.
