THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister V D Satheesan has criticised Governor Rajendra Arlekar for summoning the DGP to Lok Bhavan. The Chief Minister said the Governor should not summon the DGP or any other government official to Lok Bhavan without the permission of the Chief Minister or the government.

Satheesan said the government's displeasure over the matter had been conveyed to Lok Bhavan. He was speaking at a press conference held after the Cabinet meeting yesterday.

The Governor had summoned the DGP following a complaint filed by Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS) Vice-Chancellor Ciza Thomas after the SFI protest. Satheesan recalled that the previous government had also expressed similar displeasure when the Governor took such steps during its tenure.
