Ananya's post-mortem says she committed suicide

KOCHI: The post-mortem of transgender Ananya Kumari Alex, who was found dead at her flat in Edapally, has been completed. The initial conclusion is that she committed suicide. The post-mortem was conducted by a special team led by two doctors of Kalamasssery Medical College Hospital.

The inquest proceedings started at 8 am Thursday morning. The post-mortem started after 10 am. The body was handed over to her relatives after the post-mortem. A public homage has been arranged in Aluva by the transgenders team. After that, the body will be taken to her hometown Kollam. Police said they will examine her treatment documents to know whether there has been any lapse in her sex reassignment surgery underwent last year.
