CHANGANASSERY: NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair has said this time people have approached the election with a sense of reality. “Democratic parties have the obligation to protect beliefs and tradition. If any one takes a stand against this, the people will react.”
“In the election, the NSS has maintained equi-distant policy towards political parties. Except through press release, no instruction has been given to NSS workers. NSS stands for protecting the beliefs in Sabarimala. This will influence the poll results at least to some extent. If the government had waited for allowing young women’s entry till the review petitions were heard, the government would have been safe,” he said.
