MOSCOW: The second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine have started at 6.30 pm IST. The discussion will take place in Brest on the Belarus-Poland border.

Meanwhile, the Russian forces have captured the city of Kherson which is situated on the banks of the Dnieper river. With this, the route from the Black Sea to Kyiw has come under Russian control.

At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia had not thought about a nuclear war. Lavrov also alleged that it was the leaders of the West who wanted a nuclear war.

"Russia is ready for talks to end the war. The conditions are right in front of Ukraine. We are waiting for their reply," Lavrov said.

Earlier, he had said that if a third World War were to take place, it would involve nuclear weapons and be destructive.
