28-year-old Malayali nurse found dead at UK home; husband discovers Shymi's body after returning from duty

MANCHESTER: A 28-year-old Malayali nurse was found dead at her residence in the UK, in an unexpected incident. Shymi P.K., daughter of Kunjumon P.V. of Pathipparambil House in Peechi, Thrissur, was found dead at her residence. She was working as a nurse at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

The incident occurred around 8.05 am on Friday. Shymi’s husband, Joel, found her dead after returning home from duty. Shymi was also scheduled to be on duty that day.

Joel is the son of Pastor Moni Chacko George, a minister of the Assemblies of God church in Kumily. He is a native of Karimut. Joel and Shymi, who had come to the UK for their studies, got married a year ago. Their brothers are also in the UK.

Shymi arrived in the UK in December 2021. She was a member of the IPC Ebenezer Church at Maraikkal in Peechi.
Further details regarding the cause of death will be known only after the completion of the subsequent procedures. Arrangements to bring the body back to Kerala are underway.
