KOCHI: The Kerala High Court will consider the plea filed by the crime branch seeking more time for further investigation in the actor assault case. The investigation team approached the court as the time allotted for further investigation ends tomorrow.
The plea sought three more weeks’ time as a detailed inquiry should be conducted on the change of hash value of the memory card and the allegations of former DGP R Sreelekha should be examined.
The investigative team had yesterday got the forensic results of the memory card, which is a crucial piece of evidence in the case. The report said the memory card was examined thrice while in custody of the court and of that twice was examined at night.
The crime branch is of the view that there should be an inquiry on the double checking of cards after court hours. The actress was attacked and the visuals of it were captured on February 17 in 2017. The report said this memory card was opened on Xiaomi phone with Android operating system at 9.13 am the next day. The memory card which came into the possession of the investigation team was handed over to Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court and then to the Ernakulam principal sessions court.
