THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department has warned that the low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify within 36 hours. As a result of this, widespread rain is likely from Friday to Sunday, the Meteorological Department said. The warning says that isolated heavy rains are also possible during these days. The monsoon trough has shifted southwards from its normal position. The Meteorological Department also said that the situation is likely to continue for the next five days.

Fishing is not allowed along the Kerala coast on Friday due to the possibility of strong winds and bad weather. Heavy rain is predicted in Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts today, Saturday, and Sunday in Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts. The warning also states that heavy rainfall of up to 115.5 mm in 24 hours is likely, so be careful.
