Woman dies after biker's careless U-turn, accused arrested

KOCHI: The police arrested a biker who was involved in the accident in Thripunithura that led to the death of a woman. Vishnu, a native of Kanjiramattam, was taken into custody by Thripunithura police.

The accident took place at Thripunithura SN junction around 9.30 am on Thursday. The biker, who was on his bike behind the woman on a scooter, overtook her and made a U-turn carelessly. The young woman fell off the scooter after hitting the back of his bike and the bus that came right behind her went through her body. The woman died while being taken to the hospital.

The deceased is Kavya Dhanesh, a native of Piravam, and a senior executive member of Synergy Oceanic Service Centre in Kadavanthra in Kochi. A cyclist also died on June 12 after the accused Vishnu's bike hit him.
