THRIKKAKKARA: The police will question the husband of the complainant in the Thrikakkara rape case. The investigation team has directed the woman's husband to appear for questioning at Thrikkakara station today. The investigation team decided to record his statement after it was found that there were financial transactions between him and the accused in the case.

The police suspect that the woman might have lodged the harassment complaint as one of the accused, Thiruvananthapuram native Sasi, asked her husband to return the money he had lent him. The complainant's husband owes Rs 9 lakh to Sasi. He was in jail for a long time in a cheating case. After coming out of jail, he again asked Sasi for money. However, Sasi did not give it. He then asked Kozhikode Coastal CI PR Sunu and Perumbavoor native Rajiv to lend him some money. They didn't pay either. It was Sasi who introduced CI Sunu and Rajeev to him. The police hope to get crucial information by questioning him.

CI released
CI PR Sunu, who was taken into police custody, was released yesterday as the probe team did not find any clear evidence to arrest him. He has been asked to appear again on Tuesday at 10 am.
