THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rainfall warning issued in nine districts in the state in the next few hours. In the notification issued at 8 pm, heavy rainfall with thunderstorm is predicted in isolated places in the next three hours in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts. Wind gusting up to 40 kmph are also likely. The Indian Meteorological Department also said that slight rain is also possible at isolated places in other districts. It was earlier warned that there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in isolated places on three days this week. Chances of rain are high this week on December 4, 7 and 8.
Meanwhile, IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into sea in Kerala Lakshadweep coasts today.
Squally weather (speed 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph) very likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal and along & off Kerala coast and adjoining Maldives, Lakshadweep area and Comorin area. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas. IMD has informed that there is no restriction to fishing in Karnataka coats.
