DOHA: Qatar is evacuating residents living near the US embassy in Doha as the US and Israel intensify their attacks on Iran. The officials said the move is part of a temporary security measure. Accommodation will be provided for the evacuees. There have also been reports of an explosion off the coast of Kuwait.

Meantime, Saudi Arabia informed that it had destroyed more missiles. A missile attack was launched on the Maltese-flagged cargo ship Safin Prestige near the Strait of Hormuz yesterday. The incident happened two nautical miles north of Oman. The ship caught fire. Oman rescued all 24 crew members. Four people were injured.

In the wake of the conflict, Kuwait extended the validity of all entry and visit visas for one month. This applies to visas expiring on or after February 28. Expatriates with residence permits have also been given a three-month period to return.

As the US-Israeli alliance continues to fight each other without compromise, a new front has opened in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump announced that the US Navy will escort ships carrying oil and gas through Hormuz if necessary. The death toll in Iran in the attack has exceeded 1,100. More than 5,000 people have been injured. The US and Israel are trying to destroy Iran's missile and drone infrastructure.
