MEXICO CITY: England midfielder Jordan Henderson injured his wrist after falling over an advertising board while jumping from the sideline onto the pitch to celebrate the pre-quarterfinal win over Mexico. Reports suggest the player will need surgery and will be out of the World Cup.
The Brentford midfielder was taken off the ground on a stretcher and was supplied oxygen. Henderson did not return to the training facility in Kansas City. The 36-year-old former Liverpool captain and Champions League winner will now be out of the World Cup and may announce his retirement from international football.
Star players, including Jude Bellingham, came in to offer support to Henderson and said that his health was a bit too bothersome at the moment.
