MUMBAI: BCCI announced a 15-member Indian squad for the three-match T20 series against Zimbabwe. Malayali star Sanju Samson has been dropped from the team as expected. Meanwhile, young prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made it into the squad. Tilak Verma is the vice-captain of the team led by Shreyas Iyer. The matches will be played in Harare on July 23, 25 and 26.
The team for the Zimbabwe series has been selected with major changes from the Indian team currently touring England. Apart from Sanju, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Ravi Bishnoi and Prasidh Krishna have also not been included in the Zimbabwe series. However, left-arm batsman Rinku Singh, pacers Ashok Sharma and Yash Thakur and left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey have returned to the team. Wicketkeeper batsman Prabhsimran Singh, who has performed well in the IPL and India A, has been included in the team. Shivam Dube has also been included in the squad for the ongoing England ODI series in place of the injured Nitish Kumar Reddy.
