MUMBAI: Indian cricket is also a multi-crore game. From local players to members of the national team, they earn crores of rupees from the game of cricket. Apart from the income earned while playing for the national team from the IPL, the advertising revenue also swells the players' pockets. Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma are at the top of this list.

However, as per the latest reports, the richest cricketer in India is not one of the above-mentioned cricketers. The first question that naturally comes to mind is who is a bigger brand in Indian cricket than these players. Former Indian cricketer and half-Malayali Ajay Jadeja has achieved the feat. It was years after he retired from cricket that Jadeja achieved this rare feat.

Ajay Jadeja was announced as the new king of Jamnagar last week. Jamnagar, formerly known as Navanagar, was an important princely state of Gujarat. Jadeja was declared as "Jam Sahib" by the current Maharaja of Jamnagar, Shatrushalyasinhji Digvijaysinhji. Jadeja's assets also rose sharply after he was declared king. The former India vice-captain has an income of Rs 1,450 crore. In this regard, he has left behind Virat Kohli. Kohli's net worth is Rs 1,000 crore.

Jadeja's mother was a native of Muhamma in Alappuzha. Jadeja is currently working as a cricket commentator. Jadeja has also served as a mentor to various teams in the IPL and as a batting consultant for the Afghanistan team that arrived in India for the ODI World Cup.
