Will Mammootty win Best Actor for 'Bramayugam'? 72nd National Film Awards to be announced today

NEW DELHI: All eyes are on whether Mammootty will win the Best Actor award at the 72nd National Film Awards for his acclaimed performance in 'Bramayugam'. The winners of the prestigious awards are set to be announced today.

According to reports, 'Bramayugam', 'Manjummel Boys', and 'Kishkindha Kaandam' have all reached the final round of consideration for this year's National Film Awards. Apart from Mammootty, actor Vijayaraghavan is also in contention for the Best Actor award for his performance in 'Kishkindha Kaandam'.

The jury assessed films released in 2024. The central jury is headed by noted Malayalam filmmaker Jayaraj, who also served as the jury chairperson in 2012.

The 71st National Film Awards, announced in 2025, brought several achievements for Malayalam cinema, with Urvashi receiving the Best Supporting Actress award and Vijayaraghavan winning Best Supporting Actor.
