'Made it look vulgar, filmed it from weird angle'; Kasthuri Shankar talks about Kerala paparazzi

Actress Kasthuri Shankar might have worked for just a few Malayalam movies, but she is so popular in the state for her role in the movie ‘Aniyan Bava Chetan Bava’. The actress, who is also a politician, is often in the limelight for odd reasons. Recently, Kasthuri appeared in an interview where she talked about her encounter with paparazzi in Kerala.

“Recently, I was in Kerala to attend the preview of a movie. The makers were my friends. The Kerala people still shower their love on me for the roles I did in Malayalam cinema. During that time, a vintage song from the movie Leo was going super viral in the state.

At the event, I was dressed in a Chiffon Saree, and it was glamorous. It doesn’t mean that I was vulgarly dressed. When a few suggested that I make an appearance at the hit song from Leo, I said yes. While they were filming the content, I saw a random person filming me with his mobile phone from a weird angle.

Do you know what happened? The paparazzi edited the video taken by the teen. It clearly showed my waist and navel. The video went super viral. I was so angry because I happened to see the comments that appeared on that reel. It was vile. I can’t do anything as it is the reality of the press in Kerala.”
