Actress Neha Sharma has warned of legal action against anyone using her face or likeness to create and circulate AI-generated images and videos without her consent, demanding the immediate removal of such content from online platforms.
In a strongly worded post on X, Neha called on those responsible to stop creating, editing or sharing AI-generated visuals using her identity. She also made it clear that anyone involved in creating, posting or circulating such content would face legal action.
“Using my face in this manner to misrepresent me or malign my reputation is completely unacceptable,” the actress wrote, firmly stating that she does not consent to the unauthorised use of her face or likeness.
Neha also cautioned that operating through fake accounts or using artificial intelligence would not protect those responsible from accountability. Ending her post with the emphatic words, “TAKE IT DOWN NOW. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED,” she made her position clear on the misuse of her identity.
The issue of AI-generated deepfakes has become a growing concern in the entertainment industry, with several celebrities falling victim to manipulated images and videos. Rashmika Mandanna was among the prominent actors to speak out against the misuse of her likeness after a deepfake video featuring her went viral in 2023.
Other Bollywood celebrities, including Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif and Ranveer Singh, have also faced incidents involving manipulated or AI-generated visuals.
Neha's warning brings renewed attention to the challenges celebrities face in protecting their identities and reputations amid the growing misuse of artificial intelligence. Her statement makes clear that she intends to pursue legal action against those who create or circulate such content without her permission.
