'40 injuries, brain matter missing, ribs exposed': Anjali's post-mortem report gives details of her gruesome death

NEW DELHI: Shocking details continue to emerge in connection with the gruesome death of Anjali Singh, who died after being hit by a car during New Year's celebrations in Delhi's Sultanpuri and was dragged for 13 km after the incident. Now the preliminary post-mortem result has surfaced which shows the horror she had to suffer.

According to the report, Anjali's body had 40 injuries, her brain matter was missing, skull cavity was found open, ribs were exposed from the back of the chest, and spine was fractured. Panel of doctors who conducted autopsy has ruled “shock and haemorrhage as a result of antemortem injury to the head, spine, left femur and both lower limbs” as the main cause of death.

The report also states that there are no injuries indicative of sexual assault on the body. Anjali's mother had said raised suspicions of rape after her body was found naked.

Anjali's body was dragged under the vehicle from outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala on Sunday morning. Deepak Khanna (26), who was driving the car, Amit Khanna (25), Krishnan (27), Mithun (26) and Manoj Mittal, who were with him, were arrested.
