THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former education minister V Sivankutty refuted Chief Minister V D Satheesan's claim that the Left government accepted funds for PM SHRI scheme. While talking to the media, Sivankutty said the chief minister's statement is factually incorrect and intended to mislead the public. He was responding to the remarks of the chief minister that the previous Left government had signed an agreement under the PM SHRI scheme.

‘No procedures related to the PM SHRI project were completed. He stated that even the number of schools to be included under the scheme had not been submitted. The SSK fund is meant for us. We are not getting that fund in the name of not implementing PM SHRI. Our government had not received any fund from the Centre in the name of PM SHRI.

He alleged that the chief minister's statement is baseless and false, with no connection to facts. Out government had first given a letter in favour of PM SHRI. The cabinet later said that it should study the matter. So, a committee was formed. Sent a letter then against PM SHRI. Two letters were sent. One supporting PM SHRI and one against the project. The chief minister is talking without understanding the matter,' said V Sivankutty.
