MANGALURU: A Kerala tourist bus that was embellished with posters of terrorist Dawood Ibrahim was taken into custody by the Karnataka police. The tourist bus with the poster Dawood: Rise of a don” was stopped at Chikmagalur and later taken into custody.
Hindutva outfits in the area stopped the bus, complaining that the posters were valorising wanted terrorist Dawood, responsible for the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts that killed over 257 Indians. The police had to intervene after the bus staff engaged in a verbal altercation with members of the outfit.
The bus had students who were on a leisure trip from an educational institution. The members of the outfit spotted the poster on the bus and stopped it near Bola Rameshwara Temple in the city. Meanwhile, Karnataka media reported that a similar case took place almost six months ago when a bus from Tamil Nadu was stopped in the area for a similar controversial poster. However, the members of the outfit said they would never compromise on such antics that valorise terrorists who have waged war against India.
